I'll toast to that

    In the News
A new study shows that spending less time watching TV doesn't lead to spending more time exercising or developing better eating habits. But people who cut back on TV time seem to get lots of other stuff done.
USA Today's investigation of quality standards for school-lunch ingredients versus those used by fast-food restaurants found that the latter maintain higher quality and safety standards.
    YOU ASKED...
    Q:
Is it true that glucosamine hydrochloride may assist in rebuilding worn cartilage, is essential for healthy cartilage and maintains healthy joints and mobility? This is the claim of some supplements for arthritis. - Thelma

    A:
In short: Probably not. Scientific research hasn't found sufficient evidence to show that glucosamine hydrochloride counters osteoarthritis or promotes joint health. Read more here and here. Remember to use any dietary supplements with caution, as they're not carefully regulated by the government and often don't contain exactly what their labels say they do.
    Q:
Can a lot of exercise and weight loss overcome erectile dysfunction? - Jerry

    A:
Good news: Weight loss has been shown to help men overcome erectile dysfunction. Of course, anyone with ED should see a doctor to rule out underlying conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
