December 17, 2009 Using smart phones to detect and mitigate chemical disasters MP3 - iTunes Scientists at NASA's Ames Research Center have developed a prototype device designed to plug into an iPhone, for the purpose of detecting harmful chemicals in the air. The gadget, which will be retrofitted for other smart phones, contains sensors for sniffing ammonia, chloride, hydrazine, formaldehyde and other potentially harmful substances. December 18, 2009 Privacy groups file FTC complaint against Facebook MP3 - iTunes The Electronic Privacy Information Center, or EPIC, is complaining to the Federal Trade Commission that Facebook's new information sharing and privacy policies are unfair and deceptive to users.
